A Journey of Discovery
Every child aims for the stars. With this project I chose to offer the young of Vienna and furthermore to all those of Central and Eastern Europe, a cutting edge and more importantly an inspirational facility for the study of all things related to Outer Space. Three elevated islands revolve around a tall, wide glass cylinder displaying a full size rocket. To reach the various exhibitions contained in the islands, visitors have to travel ever higher by escalator stairs, round and round the extraordinary Ariane 5 Rocket. On their journey upwards they may experience the restaurant, a game floor and open air terraces with wonderful vistas of Vienna and numerous thematic areas. Another highlight: visiting students and scholars may further their specific knowledge with the added help of a comprehensive library.
