At the start of the project, we were sharing these thoughts: "I do not aim to become an athlete. Nevertheless, would it still be possible and would it be worth it, to find out which sports discipline might suit me best, and perhaps to make that into a serious, lasting part of my life?” To this purpose we have imagined an amateur sports counselling centre for advising those that wish to reconsider sports as a lifestyle, regardless of what they do for a living.
Together with my project colleague, the construction engineering student Christina Aquino and starting out from a novel concept for a particularly slim and expressive construction system put forward by me, we have developed and calculated a new construction system for a bridge that spans over 70 metres at its longest segment, with a subtle profile and a minimal build of steel rods and tension cables.
